Why does my Avanti compact dryer take so long?

They use a modest heating element, a small motor driving the drum by belt, a thermal fuse and cycling thermostats, and often a short vent or exhaust kit. Because they run on less power than a full-size dryer, slower drying is normal, and owners sometimes mistake it for a fault.

Compact Dryers and Older Vent Work

Stacked and compact dryers in Cornelius condos often vent through a short duct into a shared chase or exterior wall. When that duct gets crushed behind the unit, drying slows and the dryer runs hot.
