Houses, Apartments & Condos Across the Charlotte Area
Close to the center city, Wilmore and Ashley Park have older single-family homes, some freshly renovated and many still close to original. Further west, Westerly Hills and the neighborhoods off Freedom Drive and Wilkinson Boulevard include ranch homes, duplexes and apartment complexes, reaching out to the airport's perimeter. Rental housing is a big part of the mix, and so are long-time owner-occupied homes.

Setting Up a Visit, Including for Rentals
If you are a tenant, ask your landlord or manager whether they want to book the repair; most leases put appliance repair on the owner. If you are the owner, give us the tenant's name, the best way to reach them and any notes about pets or parking. We explain the diagnosis and price before starting, and the owner can approve it by phone.
For a top-freezer refrigerator, the model label is generally inside the fresh-food section on the side wall or ceiling. A top-load washer usually has it under the lid along the back edge. A quick photo sent ahead lets the technician carry the right parts for older models.
Washers That Won't Spin and Fridges That Click
Older top-load washers that fill and agitate but will not spin usually have a worn lid switch, a broken drive coupler or a slipping belt, depending on the design. All three are common, reasonably priced repairs. A washer that hums but does not move may have a jammed pump or a failed motor component, which is worth checking before giving up on the machine.
A refrigerator that clicks every few minutes and is warm inside often has a failing compressor start relay or overload, or a compressor that cannot start. The relay is a small, inexpensive part; a failed compressor is a much larger repair. Dusty condenser coils make both worse, so vacuum them with the power off a couple of times a year.
