Why does my Blomberg burner go out when I let go of the knob?

On models with flame-safety protection, a sensor beside each burner must detect a flame. If it is dirty or misaligned, the gas shuts off. Hold the knob a few extra seconds and clean the sensor; if it continues, the sensor may need replacing.

Is it worth fixing an older electric stove in my East Charlotte ranch?

Usually it is. Elements, receptacles, switches and bake elements for common stoves are inexpensive and easy to replace. We recommend replacement only when several expensive parts are failing together or the oven cavity is damaged.
