Does my Roper dishwasher have a filter I need to clean?

Newer Roper dishwashers built on Whirlpool's current platform usually have a removable filter under the bottom spray arm. It should be twisted out and rinsed every month or so. Older units often use a self-cleaning disposer instead and do not have a removable filter.

The floor near my dishwasher in an East Charlotte ranch feels soft. Could it be leaking?

It could be. A slow leak from the door seal, inlet line or drain connection can soak the subfloor over a crawl space without leaving an obvious puddle. Turn off the water to the dishwasher and have it checked; floor repair itself would be a separate contractor's job.

My dishwasher leaves food on dishes even though it runs every day. Why?
