Sub-Zero freezers appear as the lower drawer of an over-and-under built-in, the freezer side of a side-by-side, a dedicated integrated freezer column, or undercounter freezer drawers. On dual-refrigeration models, the freezer has its own compressor, evaporator and defrost system, completely separate from the refrigerator. Most include an automatic ice maker in the freezer compartment. Separate systems mean a freezer fault rarely tells us anything about the refrigerator next to it, and vice versa.

Garage and Porch Freezers in Summer Heat

South End's three-story townhomes often put a ground-floor garage under the living space, and it is a natural home for a second freezer.
