Why is only one of my JennAir column units warm?

Column refrigerators and freezers are separate appliances with their own sealed systems and controls. A fault in one does not affect the other, so the warm cabinet needs its own diagnosis. Fans, sensors and condenser airflow are the first things we check.

The refrigerator in our new Steele Creek home is two years old and running warm. Could it still be covered?

On many built-in models the compressor and condenser live at the top of the cabinet behind a grille, with the evaporator and fans down in the fresh food and freezer sections. Column units split refrigeration into separate cabinets, each with its own sealed system and electronics, so one side can fail while the other runs perfectly.

New-Construction Refrigerators and Early Faults
