The compressor runs longer, the condenser has to shed heat into air that is already hot, and door gaskets soften. Before calling, unplug the freezer and look at where it sheds heat. Uprights often have coils on the back or underneath, while many chest models hide them inside the outer walls and need open space on all sides. Give it several inches from the wall, keep boxes off the lid, and test the seal by closing it on a strip of paper to see whether it holds.
