My Thor wall oven display works but it will not heat. What is wrong?

A partly tripped double-pole breaker, a failed element or a control board relay that no longer closes are the usual suspects. Reset the breaker fully first. If it still will not heat, we test the elements and the board output to pinpoint which part failed.

Only the upper oven of my Indian Land double wall oven stopped working. Do I need a new unit?

Usually not. Each cavity has its own elements and sensors, and a fault in one does not mean the other is failing. We test the upper oven's parts and controls and quote the specific repair.

Should I avoid the self-clean cycle on my Indian Land oven?

Each cavity has a bake element, a broil element and a rear convection element with its fan, governed by a control board that relies on a temperature sensor mounted inside the oven. A cooling fan above the cavity keeps the electronics from overheating during long bakes.

Convection, double ovens and electronic controls

Many Indian Land kitchens include a double wall oven or a convection range, with touch controls instead of knobs. Uneven baking in convection mode often traces to a failed convection fan motor or element. A lower oven that heats while the upper one does not usually points to a single element, sensor or relay rather than the whole unit.

Summer thunderstorms bring power blips that can confuse electronic oven controls. If the display freezes or the oven ignores commands after an outage, switch the oven's breaker off for a few minutes and then restore it. A control that still shows an error after that needs testing.

Self-clean and the service visit

Self-clean cycles run extremely hot, and many oven failures appear during or right after one. A door that stays locked, a blown thermal fuse or a control that went blank are common results. Let the oven cool fully and do not force the door. On the visit, we test the lock, sensor, elements and control, explain the cause and quote the repair before ordering anything.
