ProFix Appliance Repair Charlotte — appliance repair across the Charlotte region. Same-day appointments when the schedule allows.
Two very different places in one county
Lancaster County runs a long way from north to south, and the two communities we cover feel nothing alike. Indian Land, at the northern tip, is unincorporated suburban growth that sits right against Ballantyne and south Charlotte. Its mailing addresses read Fort Mill, which confuses plenty of people, but it is in Lancaster County, not York.
The city of Lancaster is the county seat, a smaller and older town well to the south along US-521. Its neighborhoods include older houses close to downtown, more recent homes on the outskirts, and rural properties around the edges. ProFix Appliance Repair Charlotte schedules work in both places, though the way we schedule differs a little, as explained below.
We do not routinely cover Kershaw, Heath Springs or the southern end of the county. If you live between Indian Land and Lancaster, call us and ask; the answer depends on the exact address.
How scheduling works at each end of the county
Indian Land is close enough to our south Charlotte routes that it is scheduled like any nearby neighborhood. Same-day visits are available when the day's calendar has room, and the main variable is traffic on US-521 and around the I-485 interchange.
Lancaster is a longer drive. To keep visits there practical, we may group appointments into route days instead of offering a same-day slot every time. We will tell you when you call what the next realistic day looks like, so you can decide whether to wait for it or use a cooler for a day.
What the housing means for repairs
Indian Land's large newer subdivisions mean lots of two-story homes with second-floor laundry, open kitchens with stainless appliance packages, and garage refrigerators that bake through South Carolina summers. A garage fridge is built for a limited temperature range, and when the garage gets very hot it can run constantly, freeze food in one compartment and let another warm up. Moving it, or cleaning its condenser coils, sometimes solves more than a part ever would.
In Lancaster, appliances in older houses often share circuits with other loads, sit on older flooring, or connect through supply lines that have been in place a long time. Rural homes may be on private wells, and well water can bring sediment that gums up inlet screens on washers, dishwashers and refrigerator water valves. A slow fill or a weak ice maker is often traced back to that kind of buildup.
Appliances we repair and how we price the work
We repair refrigerators, freezers, ice makers, wine coolers, washers, dryers, dishwashers, ovens, ranges, cooktops and microwaves, gas and electric, across all major brands. Some light-commercial work is possible too, such as a break-room refrigerator or a small office's laundry machines.
The technician diagnoses the problem first, then explains it and quotes the repair before doing anything. You decide whether to go ahead. Repairs come with a 90-day parts and 30-day labor warranty, and if the appliance is still covered by its manufacturer, we point that out so you can use that coverage instead.
Safe checks to try before the visit
A few minutes of checking can save a trip. Make sure the appliance has power by looking at the breaker panel and any GFCI outlet in the kitchen, laundry room or garage. On a dishwasher that will not drain, clean the filter at the bottom of the tub. On a dryer that runs but heats poorly, clean the lint screen and look at the outside vent flap to see whether air is moving.
Unplug the appliance or turn off its breaker before reaching inside anything. If you smell gas near a range or dryer, leave the house and call the gas utility or 911 from outside. Do not try to work on gas connections yourself.
