Miele Dryers: What We Check First

Instead of venting hot air outside, they recirculate air through a heat pump that condenses moisture into a container or drain hose. That makes them energy efficient and easy to install in closets and upper-floor laundry rooms, but it also means their filters are critical. Lint collects at filters in the door opening and at a sponge-like plinth filter behind a flap at the bottom.

Checking Safely Before the Technician Arrives

Clean the lint screen and check the outside flap while the dryer runs. Unplug it before pulling it out, and on a gas dryer, close the appliance shutoff valve without disturbing the line.
