Why does one burner on my Thor rangetop light and then go out?

Usually the flame is not reaching the reignition sensing point evenly, often because the cap is off center or the ports are clogged. Clean and reseat the burner parts first. If it keeps happening, the electrode or switch needs testing.

The touch controls on my glass cooktop in a Northlake-area home stopped responding. What can I do?

Turn off the cooktop's breaker for a few minutes and restore it, since a power flicker can freeze the controls. Wipe the control area dry, because moisture can confuse touch sensors. If it still does not respond, the control board or touch panel needs testing.

One coil burner on my older stovetop in Northwest Charlotte won't heat. Is it the element?

Swap it with a working element of the same size, with the breaker off. If the swapped element works, the original element is bad. If the problem stays in that position, the receptacle or switch is at fault, and both are common, inexpensive repairs.
