Why does my MaxxIce keep making ice when the bin is full?

The bin sensor tells the machine to stop, and if it is blocked, dirty or failed, production continues until ice overflows. Check that nothing is in the way of the sensor. If it is clear, the sensor or control needs testing.

Our Marshville ice maker stopped working after a new well pump was installed. Could that be related?

It can be. Well work often stirs up sediment that rushes into the refrigerator filter and inlet valve. Replace the filter first and see if ice production recovers. If not, the valve screen may be clogged and need cleaning or replacement.

Well Water, Filters and Busy Dispensers

An ice maker is often the first appliance to complain about well water. Sediment and iron load the refrigerator filter faster than its rated life, and a clogged filter or valve screen makes thin, hollow or misshapen cubes. Minerals can also build up where the fill tube enters the freezer, letting it freeze shut and stopping production entirely.
