Why does my Kenmore dryer keep blowing the thermal fuse?

A repeatedly blown thermal fuse usually means the vent is restricted and the dryer is overheating. Clean the vent and check for kinks or crushing. A technician can also check the cycling thermostat and heating system.

Dust, Nests and Long Drying Times

In rural homes, dryers often sit in a utility room, back porch or garage, close to outside air that carries field dust and pollen. Work clothes shed more lint and dirt than ordinary laundry, and outside vent hoods on country houses sometimes attract birds, wasps or mud daubers.
