Freezers Out in the Shed

Freezers here often live in an outbuilding, barn, carport or garage, and in a Carolina summer those spaces get far hotter than a kitchen. Running in that heat, with dust on the coils and sometimes on a long extension cord, a freezer works hard and its start relay, thermostat and compressor wear sooner. If a full freezer stops, keep it closed, since the contents stay frozen longer that way.
