Why is my Sub-Zero freezer warm while the refrigerator is cold?

On dual-refrigeration models, the freezer has its own system. A defrost fault, a failed fan or a condenser problem on the freezer side is the usual cause.

We came back to our Cornelius lake house and the garage freezer had thawed. What should we do?

Discard food that thawed, then check whether the freezer has power and restarts. If it runs but will not get cold, or keeps shutting off, schedule a diagnosis. A temperature alarm can warn you next time.

Can a freezer sit on a covered patio by the lake?
