If flames drop across the range when many burners are lit, the gas supply or pressure may not be keeping up. That can be a supply issue outside the appliance. We check what we can at the range and tell you if the gas utility or a contractor should look at the supply.

Vulcan Ranges: What We Check First

A Vulcan restaurant range is really several appliances sharing one frame and one gas manifold. The top might combine open burners, a griddle section and a hot top or French top, all sitting over a standard or convection oven. Heavy-duty models are built to bolt into a line of equipment. Because every section draws from the same gas supply and shares a cabinet, a problem in one area can affect the others.

Slide-In and Convection Ranges

When a kitchen is updated, the old freestanding unit is often replaced with a slide-in range that has front controls, a convection fan and sometimes a warming drawer. More features mean more parts to diagnose: touch panels, oven sensors, door locks, convection motors and, on gas models, igniters and spark modules.
