My Electrolux gas stove's oven igniter glows but there is no flame. Why?

That is a classic sign of a weak igniter. It still glows but doesn't pull enough current to open the oven gas valve. Replacing the igniter usually fixes it, but we test the valve as well to be sure.

A few clicks until the burner lights is normal. Clicking that continues after the flame is lit, or happens with the knob off, usually means moisture on the igniter or a failing switch. Let the burner dry out, and if it continues, a technician can replace the faulty part.

Gas Stoves for First-Time Gas Cooks

Many newer Steele Creek subdivisions were built with natural gas to the kitchen, and plenty of owners moving in are cooking on a gas stove for the first time.
