About Electrolux Stove Repair
Many Charlotte homeowners say stove when they mean a freestanding or slide-in range, and Electrolux makes those in gas, electric smoothtop and induction versions. Gas stoves use sealed burners with spark ignition up top and a hot-surface igniter in the oven. Electric and induction stoves rely on elements or coils on top and bake, broil and convection elements below, all managed by an electronic control behind a glass panel.
On gas Electrolux stoves, the most common call is an oven that takes a long time to light or won't heat at all. That usually means the hot-surface igniter has weakened; it glows but doesn't draw enough current to open the gas valve. On the cooktop, burners that click without lighting typically have a wet or cracked igniter, or a burner cap that isn't seated. Electric models lose bake elements and surface elements, and induction models can show zone errors tied to power boards. Touch controls that lock up after outages appear across the line.
There are safe things you can check. Turn the stove off and, for gas, make sure no burner is on before touching anything. Reseat burner caps and dry them if they were washed. For an electric unit, switch off the breaker before looking at the elements. Check whether the control lock feature has been activated by accident. If you smell gas, leave immediately and call the gas utility from outside.
When we come out we test the oven igniter's amperage, the gas valve and safety components, the temperature sensor and the elements, and we check the control for error history. On induction or electric models we test boards and supply voltage. You will hear the diagnosis and the price before we start.
Igniters, elements, sensors and burner parts are routine repairs and worth doing on almost any Electrolux stove. Boards cost more and we compare them honestly to the cost of replacement.
