About LG Stove Repair
For most owners, the LG stove means the top of an LG range: a set of sealed gas burners with continuous cast iron grates, or a radiant glass top with front or rear controls. LG gas stoves often include a high-output UltraHeat burner for searing and a small simmer burner, while electric models usually feature a dual or triple element and a warming zone. Because the stove top sees daily heat, spills and cleaning, its parts wear differently from the oven below.
Gas stove issues usually involve ignition. When grease or boil-overs reach the burner base, spark electrodes cannot reach their target, so you get clicking without a flame or a flame that lights slowly. A spark switch that has absorbed moisture can keep the igniters clicking after the knob is off. Uneven or yellow flames suggest a misaligned cap or clogged ports. On electric stoves, the common issue is an element that does not heat or a dual element that heats on only one ring. A warming zone may stop heating if its element or control fails.
Owners can clean burner parts and electrodes after the stove cools, using a soft brush and a pin for ports, then dry everything fully before reassembly. Make sure knobs are seated straight on their stems; a cracked knob can stop the switch from turning fully. For electric stoves, verify both legs of the breaker and compare settings on other elements. Never use a cracked glass top, and if you smell gas, leave and call the gas company from outside.
We test spark modules, switches and burner gas flow, check alignment of caps and heads, and measure element resistance and switch output on electric models. When we find a problem with one burner or element, we check the others on that visit too, so you do not have to book again.
Igniters, switches, elements and knobs are inexpensive fixes and nearly always worth doing. A cracked glass top on an older LG range is the one repair that can make replacing the whole range worth considering.
Where LG Stoves Tend to Fail
- Spark electrode fouled by grease, burner clicking but slow to light
- Moisture in spark switch keeping igniters clicking after shutoff
- Dual radiant element heating only on the inner ring
- Warming zone element or its control failing to heat
