About LG Range Repair
An LG range combines a cooktop, an oven and one main control in a freestanding or slide-in chassis. LG offers electric, gas, induction and dual-fuel ranges, and many current models add ProBake Convection, air fry, InstaView windows and ThinQ Wi-Fi control. Some include a second smaller oven in a double-oven range. All of these share one control system, so problems with the board or power supply can affect both the top and the oven at once.
The range-specific faults we see on LG involve power and controls more than any single heating part. A display that goes blank after a storm, a touch panel that locks, or a range that loses oven function but keeps some burners working often traces to the main board, the incoming terminal block, or a heat-damaged harness behind the range. Slide-in ranges can overheat their controls if the oven vent is blocked. Double-oven models have their own sets of elements, sensors and door locks, which can fail independently.
Owners can safely check that both breaker handles are on for an electric or induction range, and that the cooktop gas burners light on a gas or dual-fuel model. Turn off the breaker for a few minutes to reset the control after an outage. If your range is connected to ThinQ, check whether it shows a code or a lockout. Do not move a gas range yourself to look behind it; the flexible connector should be handled by a technician.
We check incoming voltage at the terminal block, inspect wiring and connectors for heat damage, test the control board outputs and relays, and examine oven components. On dual-fuel units we check both the gas cooktop ignition and electric oven elements. On double-oven models we test each cavity separately.
LG range repairs, including boards, elements, igniters and wiring, are usually worthwhile on units under about a decade old. Slide-in models are especially worth repairing because replacing them means matching the cabinet opening.
