About Thermador Range Repair
Thermador's range lineup spans Pro Harmony models in 30 and 36 inches and the larger Pro Grand ranges up to 60 inches. They are offered as all-gas, dual-fuel and induction, with Star burners on gas models and options like griddles, grills and Pro Grand steam ovens. The dual-fuel models combine gas burners with electric convection ovens. Larger models include two oven cavities, and the smaller one may be a dedicated steam or convection oven.
Diagnosis on a Thermador range covers both the cooktop and one or more ovens. Common cooktop issues include ignition failures and clicking, especially after spills. Oven issues include weak gas igniters, temperature sensor drift, convection fan failures, door lock problems after self-clean, and electronic control faults after surges. Steam ovens add water supply and scaling issues. Induction models can develop power board or fan problems. Induction ranges in the line add a power electronics system that we test separately from the oven.
Owners can clean and dry burners and igniters, reseat caps, and reset the breaker on models with electronics. For steam ovens, follow the descaling procedure. If the oven is locked after self-clean, let it cool fully. Smell gas at any point? Get everyone outside, skip the light switches, and call the gas utility or 911 from the yard. Write down any error message before resetting so we have it for diagnosis.
