About Thermador Oven / Range Repair

Thermador wall ovens include the Masterpiece and Professional series in single, double and combination configurations. Many feature true convection with a third element around the fan, soft-close doors, and steam or speed-oven options. The Triple Combination oven combines steam, convection and microwave in a single cavity. These ovens are built into cabinetry and rely on a cooling fan to keep electronics safe from heat.

Thermador oven problems we see often include a cooling fan that fails or runs constantly, a door lock that won't release after self-clean, a temperature sensor that drifts, and convection elements or fan motors that stop. Steam models can develop water supply or scaling issues. Control boards and touch displays may act up after power surges. Hinges on heavy doors can wear and prevent the door from closing tightly, which affects baking. Because the oven sits in a cabinet, a failing cooling fan can quietly cook the control board over several months before anything obvious happens.

With the oven cool and the breaker off, check whether the door closes evenly, and look at visible elements for damage. If the oven is locked after self-clean, let it cool fully before trying again. For steam ovens, follow the descaling procedure in the manual. Note any error messages so we can review them. If the display froze during a thunderstorm, a minute with the breaker off often brings it back.

Our technician measures the cavity temperature against the setpoint, tests the sensor, elements, convection motor and cooling fan, and checks the door lock. If the oven must be pulled from the cabinet, we tell you first and protect the cabinetry. You receive the diagnosis and the price before any repair.

Thermador wall ovens are worth repairing in almost all cases because replacement requires matching a cutout and finishing. Fans, sensors, locks and elements are standard repairs, and we explain any longer lead time. If the oven is recent enough to be covered by Thermador, we will say so before quoting, and our own repairs carry a 90-day parts and 30-day labor warranty.
