About Bosch Oven / Range Repair
Bosch wall ovens are European-style units with a third heating element behind the rear convection fan, a temperature sensor in the cavity, a cooling fan for the electronics, and a door lock for the self-clean or steam-clean cycle. Single, double and combination microwave-oven models are common in remodeled kitchens, where they are set into cabinetry rather than sitting on the floor.
Most service calls involve heat. A failed bake or broil element, a burned convection element, or a sensor reading the wrong temperature produces uneven baking or an oven that never reaches temperature. A noisy or seized convection fan motor gives a whine or grinding sound. Cooling fans that fail can make the controls overheat and shut down. After storms, a dead or flickering display usually means the power supply on the control board took a surge.
Before you call, check the breaker; double wall ovens are on a large dedicated circuit, and one tripped leg can leave half the oven dead. Make sure the clock is set and the oven is not in a lock or demo mode. Look at the bake and broil elements for breaks or blisters. If you smell burning plastic or see sparks, switch off the breaker and leave the oven alone.
We test the elements, sensor and fans individually and check the control for proper signals before we suggest a part. Wall ovens frequently need to slide forward out of the cabinet for access to the wiring and rear components, which we do carefully. If the control board is the issue, we explain how long that board might take to arrive.
Elements, sensors and fans are usually sensible repairs on a Bosch wall oven, especially since a replacement may not fit the same cabinet cutout. An older double oven with a failed main control is a judgment call we will walk you through.
