About Bosch Dishwasher Repair
A Bosch dishwasher is built around a sealed stainless tub, a circulation pump with the water heater built into its housing, a separate drain pump with a small check valve, and a base pan with a float switch underneath. That layout makes the machine quiet and efficient, and it also decides how it fails. Most repair calls trace back to drainage, a leak into the base, or the heater inside the pump.
Drainage faults are the most frequent. Bits of broken glass, fruit pits, labels and fine grit get past the filter and jam the drain pump impeller or hold the check valve open. The machine may show E24 or E25, hum without draining, or simply leave clean water standing in the tub. Leaks are next: a loose sump gasket, a door seal folded during loading, or suds from the wrong detergent can put water in the base pan, lift the float and stop the cycle with E15.
Before calling, turn off the power at the breaker or unplug the unit. Twist out the filter assembly at the bottom of the tub, rinse the fine and coarse screens, and check the sump beneath them for debris. Make sure the drain hose under the sink has no kink and that a new garbage disposal has had its knockout plug removed. If the house is on a well, a clogged inlet screen can slow filling enough to cause a fault.
Our visit starts with the fault history and a manual test of each component, rather than replacing the most expensive part first. We measure the heater circuit inside the circulation pump, run the drain pump directly, and trace water in the base pan to its source. Damp plastics after a cycle are often normal on a condensation-dry Bosch, and we will say so instead of selling a repair you do not need.
Repair usually makes sense on a Bosch with a healthy tub, because pumps, valves and seals are moderate jobs. A failed control module on an older machine is a closer call, and we will give you the price and our honest opinion before anything is ordered.
Where Bosch Dishwashers Tend to Fail
- Drain pump jammed by glass or seeds, setting E24 or E25
- Base-pan float switch tripped by a slow leak, showing E15
- Heater inside the circulation pump failing, leaving washes lukewarm
- Inlet valve or screen restricted, causing slow or failed fills
