About JennAir Dishwasher Repair
JennAir dishwashers are built on Whirlpool's premium dishwasher platform, dressed in JennAir's panels, handles and controls. Inside you will find a stainless tub, a removable filter assembly under the lower spray arm, a drain pump and a circulation pump, a water inlet valve, and a heating element or heated wash system depending on the model. Many have a third rack and extra spray zones, which add a few more hoses and diverters to inspect.
Standing water after a cycle is the complaint we hear most. It usually comes from a clogged filter, a drain hose kinked behind the cabinet, a garbage disposal knockout that was never removed, or a drain pump jammed by glass or a fruit pit. Poor cleaning often traces back to a blocked filter, a cracked spray arm or a failing circulation motor. Leaks at the door generally mean a worn tub gasket or a cabinet that is not level.
You can safely check a few things first. With the power off, twist out the filter and rinse it under the tap. Make sure the spray arms spin freely and their holes are clear. Look under the sink for a kinked drain hose. If your home is on a well, sediment can choke the inlet screen and slow filling, so note whether the tub seems to fill weakly.
During the visit we run a test cycle and watch the fill, wash and drain stages, then test the pump, inlet valve, heater, float switch and door latch. Error indications from the control can help, but we confirm the fault at the part before ordering anything. If a JennAir-specific panel or control is needed, we tell you the expected wait.
Most dishwasher repairs on this platform are moderate in cost because pumps, valves and filters are shared Whirlpool parts. A rusted tub or a failing control on a very old unit is where we would talk about replacement instead.
Where JennAir Dishwashers Tend to Fail
- Drain pump jammed by debris, leaving water standing in the tub
- Clogged filter assembly causing gritty dishes and slow draining
- Water inlet valve or screen restricted by sediment, causing weak fills
- Door gasket or latch wear leading to leaks at the front
