About Fisher & Paykel Dishwasher Repair
The DishDrawer is the reason many people know Fisher & Paykel. Each drawer is a complete dishwasher: a pull-out tub, an integrated motor and pump at the bottom, a filter, and a lid that lowers to seal the tub during the wash. A flexible harness and hose follow the drawer as it opens and closes, carrying power, signals and water. In a double DishDrawer, the top and bottom are independent machines that share a cabinet but not a motor or control. Fisher & Paykel also sells conventional built-in dishwashers, which follow a more familiar design.
DishDrawer leaks often trace to a lid seal that has hardened or a drawer that is not closing fully. A drawer that powers on but will not start may have a lid that is not lowering, a motor fault, or a control problem. Wear on the flexible harness can cause intermittent faults that come and go as the drawer moves. Poor cleaning usually comes from a clogged filter or blocked spray arm. A drawer that fills slowly may have a clogged inlet screen, especially in homes on private wells.
Start with what is visible. Clean the filter at the bottom of the tub, and check that the spray arm turns freely. Make sure dishes are not blocking the lid from lowering or the drawer from closing. Look for water under the drawer or in the cabinet below, and turn off power at the breaker before checking anything more than the filter.
We test the lid mechanism, motor and pump, inlet valve, flexible harness and control. Each drawer is diagnosed on its own logic, and we protect the cabinetry around integrated installs.
Lid seals, filters, inlet valves and harnesses are reasonable repairs. Motor or control failures can be costly, but because DishDrawers are built into cabinetry, repair often remains the better value. We give you the diagnosis and price first.
