About Dacor Dishwasher Repair
Dacor dishwashers are quiet, built-in machines usually installed alongside a full Dacor kitchen, often with a stainless or custom panel front. Newer models share much of their platform with Samsung's premium dishwashers, so the wash system, pumps and electronics follow a familiar design, while the panels, trim and some controls stay specific to Dacor.
The common failures are mechanical and water-related. Drain pumps clog with glass, seeds or label paper and start to hum without moving water. Filters that are never cleaned send debris back onto dishes and slow draining. Door latches and the switches behind them wear, leaving a machine that will not start or stops mid-cycle. Leaks often trace back to the door gasket, a loose spray arm, or a sump seal, and the leak-detection float in the base can shut the machine down even after a small spill. Poor drying is common on quiet, low-heat designs and is often a rinse-aid or loading issue rather than a failed part.
With the breaker off or the unit unplugged, it is safe to pull and rinse the filter assembly at the bottom of the tub and look for broken glass in the sump. Check that the drain hose under the sink is not kinked and that a new disposal's knockout plug was removed. If the machine is on a private well in Union or Cabarrus County, a slow fill or white film can point to sediment on the inlet screen. Do not run the machine if water is pooling under it.
We start by running a diagnostic or service cycle where the model supports it, then test the drain pump, inlet valve, heater and latch switches. Water on the floor gets traced to its source before any part is ordered, since a wet base pan can come from several places.
Most Dacor dishwasher repairs, including pumps, latches, valves and seals, cost a fraction of a replacement and are worth doing. A cracked tub or a failed main board on an older unit is a closer call, and we lay out both options with the price.
Where Dacor Dishwashers Tend to Fail
- Drain pump jammed with glass or debris and humming only
- Worn door latch switch preventing start or stopping cycles
- Leak sensor float tripped by gasket or sump seal leak
- Inlet valve screen clogged by well-water sediment
