About Blomberg Dishwasher Repair
Blomberg dishwashers are quiet, European-style built-in machines in 18-inch and 24-inch widths, usually with stainless tubs, a third rack on many models and a multi-part filter at the bottom of the tub. They rely on a circulation pump and spray arms, a separate drain pump, an inlet valve, and leak protection in the base. The door is held by hinges with balance springs and cables, which keep it from dropping open when unlatched.
Draining problems are common and often start with a clogged filter, since many owners do not realize it needs regular cleaning. Standing water can also come from a kinked drain hose or a jammed drain pump. A door that drops open abruptly or will not stay where you place it usually has a worn or broken balance spring or cable. Water in the base pan can trip the leak protection and stop the dishwasher from running. Poor cleaning often comes from blocked spray arms or detergent residue.
Start by removing and rinsing the filter assembly according to the manual, and check that the spray arms spin freely and their holes are clear. Look under the sink for a kinked hose or a disposal knockout plug that was never removed. If the dishwasher is not filling well and your home is on a private well, sediment in the inlet screen can be the cause. Turn off power at the breaker before removing the kick panel.
We test the drain and circulation pumps, inlet valve, door springs and cables, leak protection and the control. If we find water in the base pan, we trace the leak to its source. We confirm parts availability before quoting.
Filters, pumps, valves and door springs are reasonable repairs on a Blomberg dishwasher. A failed control board on an older unit can be expensive, and we will help you weigh it against replacement.
