About Blomberg Washer Repair
A Blomberg washer is a 24-inch front-loader designed to stack with a matching ventless dryer or sit under a counter. It uses a horizontal drum, a door lock that engages during the cycle, a drain pump with an owner-cleanable filter behind a small panel at the bottom front, and a rubber door gasket or boot that seals the drum. The machine weighs and balances loads electronically, so it often pauses to redistribute clothes before spinning.
The most common call is a washer that will not drain, which usually means the drain pump filter is clogged with lint, hair ties, coins or small socks. A door that will not unlock at the end of a cycle often has water still inside, so draining it first solves the lock. Musty smells come from mildew in the door gasket and detergent drawer, especially in humid Charlotte summers. Loud noises during spin can mean worn drum bearings, a loose counterweight or shipping bolts that were never removed after installation.
You can safely open the drain filter with the washer unplugged: place towels and a shallow pan under it, since water will come out, and clean the filter of debris. Wipe the door gasket folds and leave the door and detergent drawer open between loads. Use only HE detergent in small amounts. If the washer is new and noisy, check whether the shipping bolts on the back are still in place.
We test the drain pump, door lock, inlet valves, pressure system and drive components, and inspect the gasket, bearings and suspension. We confirm parts availability before quoting.
Pumps, door locks, gaskets and inlet valves are reasonable repairs on a Blomberg washer. Bearing replacement or a failed control board on an older unit can be costly, and we will help you weigh it against a new machine.
