Bertazzoni Range Repair

A Bertazzoni range is two machines bolted into one heavy frame: a sealed gas top with brass or aluminium burners and flame-failure valves, and an oven that is either gas or, on dual-fuel models, electric with a convection fan. Each half fails in its own way, so we treat them separately during diagnosis rather than assuming one fault explains every symptom.

On the top, the common calls are burners that click and will not light, burners that light and then die when the knob is released, and a spark module that keeps ticking after the flame is established. Most of these trace back to moisture or food around the electrodes and knob switches, a cap not sitting flat, or a worn thermocouple. In the oven, we see thermostats or sensors drifting out of calibration, bake or broil elements opening up on dual-fuel units, slow gas oven ignition on all-gas units, and convection fans that grind.

Before you call, turn the range off and let it cool. Lift each burner cap and head, make sure the ports are clear and dry, and reseat them so they sit level and do not rock. If the oven seems off, put an oven thermometer on the middle rack and compare it with the set temperature after twenty minutes. If you smell gas at any point, leave the house and call the gas utility or 911 from outside.

On a visit we check spark at every electrode, measure thermocouple output, inspect the switches behind the knobs, and run the oven through a full heat cycle while watching temperature swing. On dual-fuel models we also check the element circuits and the oven control. You get the findings and the price before any part is fitted.

Bertazzoni ranges are worth fixing in most cases because the frame, grates and gas valves are durable and the common failures are small parts. The exceptions are a cavity with badly damaged enamel, or an electronic control that is no longer supplied. We will tell you which side of that line your range is on.
