AGA's conventional range cookers look like classic British ranges, with deep enamel colors and multiple ovens, but they work like modern appliances. They pair a gas or induction cooktop with electric ovens that heat on demand, often including a conventional oven, a fan oven, a broiler and sometimes a slow-cook or warming oven. They are popular with owners who love the AGA look but do not want a cooker that runs all day.

On gas-top models, the most common faults are igniters and spark modules that fail or click constantly, and burner caps that are not seated correctly after cleaning. Induction tops can lose a zone when a coil or control board fails, often after a power surge. The ovens have their own failures: bake or broil elements that burn out, convection fans that stop or get noisy, temperature sensors that misread, and door hinges or seals that wear. Because each oven is separate, one can fail while the others keep working.

Check the breaker first, since electric ovens and induction tops need a dedicated circuit. For gas burners, clean and dry caps and seat them properly. For induction, make sure your pan is compatible and the control lock is off. If you smell gas, leave the house and call the gas utility or 911 from outside. Do not pull the range out yourself; it is heavy and connected to gas and electrical supplies.
