Maytag Ranges: What We Check First

Maytag has a long history with ranges, including the Gemini double-oven models that put a small upper oven above a larger lower one, an idea current Maytag double-oven ranges still carry. Today's freestanding and slide-in Maytag ranges are Whirlpool-platform designs with a Power Burner on gas cooktops, Power Preheat in the oven and electronic controls that run both cavities on double-oven models. On electric versions, everything draws from a single 240-volt supply that enters through a terminal block at the back.

Getting a range back in service

Newer slide-in and freestanding ranges in Locust subdivisions rely on electronic controls, oven sensors and sometimes convection fans, which can be affected by storm surges.
