Why does my Dacor burner relight itself or click when the flame looks fine?

The reignition system watches for a flame at the burner. If the cap is crooked, the burner is dirty or a switch is wet, it may misread the flame and keep sparking. Reseating and drying the parts often fixes it; if not, we test the switch and module.

Can you replace a scorched burner receptacle on an older stove in my west-side duplex?

Yes. A scorched receptacle is a common, inexpensive repair, and we usually replace the matching element at the same time because a damaged element often caused the burn. Keep that burner off and the breaker off until the repair is done.

Basic Stoves That Have Seen Heavy Use
