Why does my Dacor burner relight itself or click when the flame looks fine?

The reignition system watches for a flame at the burner. If the cap is crooked, the burner is dirty or a switch is wet, it may misread the flame and keep sparking. Reseating and drying the parts often fixes it; if not, we test the switch and module.

One burner on our Fort Mill gas stove has a yellow flame. Should I keep using it?

A lazy yellow flame often means the burner cap is not seated, the ports are partly blocked or the air mix is off. Turn it off, let it cool, then clean and reseat the cap. If the flame stays yellow or leaves soot on pans, stop using that burner and book a visit.

Burner problems on everyday stoves
