Why does my Samsung top-loader keep showing an unbalanced load error?

Occasional imbalance is normal with bulky items, but frequent errors on ordinary loads usually point to worn suspension rods that let the tub swing too far. The washer senses that movement and stops to protect itself. Replacing the rods as a set normally ends the problem.

Samsung Washers: What We Check First

Overloaded machines and aging connections

Washers in student and workforce rentals take a beating. Overstuffed loads wear suspension rods, tub bearings and lid switches, and coins or hair ties in pockets end up in the drain pump. A top-loader that bangs during spin or a machine that stops with water in it often tells that story, and those are usually reasonable repairs on a common model.
