Why is ice building up so fast in my Amana chest freezer?

Fast frost usually means warm, humid air is getting in through a worn lid gasket or a lid that does not close fully. Frequent opening in humid weather adds to it. Check and replace the gasket if it is torn or flattened.

My garage freezer in Harrisburg stopped after a storm. Could it just be the outlet?

Quite possibly. Garage outlets are often GFCI-protected and can trip during a storm, so check and reset it first. If the freezer still will not run, keep it closed and call us so we can test the start components and controls.

Garage freezers through a Cabarrus County summer
