Why does only the inner ring of my Fisher & Paykel burner light?

Dual-flow burners have separate inner and outer rings, and the outer ports can clog with spills. Remove the rings, clean them and let them dry fully before reseating. If the outer ring still will not light, the valve or burner base may need service.

My propane cooktop in Midland has yellow flames. Is that a problem?

Propane burners and glass tops

On a propane cooktop, burners that light weakly, flame unevenly or keep clicking usually come down to a dirty or wet igniter, a misplaced burner cap, or clogged burner ports. If the cooktop was converted from natural gas, the orifices must match propane, and a mismatch shows up as yellow, lazy flames.
