Dual-fuel ranges pair gas burners on top with an electric oven, so a single appliance can have spark ignition, gas valves, heating elements, convection fans and electronic controls all working together.

Two systems in one appliance

A range is a cooktop and an oven sharing one frame, so a dead bake element or a weak oven igniter does not mean the burners are failing too. On older Lancaster ranges, the typical repairs are elements, igniters, thermostats, infinite switches and oven door gaskets.
