One burner on my Samsung gas stove only lights halfway around. Why?

The burner cap is likely tilted, or food has clogged some of the burner ports. Turn off the stove, let it cool, clear the ports with a pin and reseat the cap firmly. If the flame stays uneven, the burner head may be damaged.

The receptacle under one burner on my Lancaster stove looks burned. Can I keep using it?

Samsung Stoves: What We Check First

Keeping a long-serving stove cooking

Electric coil stoves in Lancaster's older homes tend to fail in predictable ways.
