Can an Avanti gas stove run on propane?

Many Avanti gas stoves can be converted for propane with a conversion kit or orifices. The conversion should be done properly, since running a natural gas setup on propane can cause oversized flames and soot. Check the manual and have the conversion done before use.

The receptacle under one burner on my Lancaster stove looks burned. Can I keep using it?

Keeping a long-serving stove cooking

Electric coil stoves in Lancaster's older homes tend to fail in predictable ways.
