Many models pair gas, electric radiant or induction burners with a vent that either sits flush between the burners or rises out of the counter at the back. Under the counter, a blower motor pulls air through a grease filter and pushes it through a duct to the outside. Other JennAir cooktops are designed to work with an overhead hood and have no vent at all.

The usual trouble is constant clicking after a spill, a burner that will not light or a flame that burns low and uneven.
