Newer Roper dishwashers built on Whirlpool's current platform usually have a removable filter under the bottom spray arm. It should be twisted out and rinsed every month or so. Older units often use a self-cleaning disposer instead and do not have a removable filter.

Installation Details in New Construction

In new construction, a dishwasher that will not drain is sometimes not broken at all. If a garbage disposal was installed or replaced and the knockout plug inside its dishwasher inlet was never removed, the water has nowhere to go.
