Don't force it, because that can strip the drive gears. Turn the breaker off and on to reset it, then try again. If it still will not move, the drive motor, switches or control board need testing.

When a Mounted Microwave Is Worth Fixing

Countertop microwaves are inexpensive enough that most owners replace them, but over-the-range models are another story because they also serve as the vent hood and are bolted above the range.
