Why does only one ring of my Miele range burner light?

Dual-stacked burners have two flame rings. If the lower ring won't light, the ports may be blocked or the valve or igniter may have an issue. We clean, test and repair the specific part.

Miele Ranges: What We Check First

Miele ranges are pro-style units sold in 30, 36 and 48-inch widths, in all-gas and dual-fuel configurations. Their dual-stacked burners run two flame rings, so a single burner can deliver a gentle simmer or a high-output sear. Larger models may include a griddle and two ovens, and the main oven on many versions uses M Touch controls with automatic programs and a moisture-assist feature. These ranges are heavy and usually installed against a backsplash with a matching hood, so they are rarely moved.

One appliance, two systems

A range combines a cooktop and an oven, so a fault on one side does not mean the whole unit is done. A gas range with good burners and a weak oven igniter, or an electric range with one bad element and a sound control, is often a reasonable repair.
