What is different about repairing an LG inverter microwave?

Inverter models replace the traditional transformer with an inverter board that powers the magnetron. If the unit runs but does not heat, the inverter board is a likely suspect along with the magnetron. These parts carry high voltage and should only be tested by a technician.

Is it worth repairing my over-the-range microwave in Locust?

When a microwave repair makes sense out here
