Both styles use the same core heating parts as any microwave, but the drawer models add a motor, gears, rails and position switches.

When a microwave repair makes sense out here

Over-the-range models are different, since they also serve as the range hood and light and require removal and installation to replace. Common faults include door switches, blown internal fuses, failed magnetrons and vent fans that wear out.

Try the breaker, unplug the unit for a minute, and test with a cup of water. Clean the grease filters underneath. Do not open the cabinet, because the high-voltage capacitor can hold a charge after unplugging. If we come out, we test the parts, give you the price and schedule on a route day when possible.
