Why does only the inner ring of my Fisher & Paykel burner light?

Dual-flow burners have separate inner and outer rings, and the outer ports can clog with spills. Remove the rings, clean them and let them dry fully before reseating. If the outer ring still will not light, the valve or burner base may need service.

One burner on my Harrisburg island cooktop keeps clicking after it lights. What causes that?

Usually moisture or residue on the igniter, or a burner cap that is not seated flat. Let it dry fully and reseat the cap. If the clicking continues, the switch or spark module may be at fault, which we can test and replace.

Can you replace the cracked glass on a cooktop in my Concord kitchen?

Induction models use copper coils under the glass to heat magnetic cookware directly, managed by power boards, a touch or dial interface and a fan that keeps the electronics cool. Both are often installed in islands or over drawers in design-focused kitchens, which affects airflow and access.

Island cooktops and remodeled counters

Kitchens in the newer subdivisions often put a gas or glass cooktop in the island, with the wall oven elsewhere. Gas burners that click without lighting usually have spill residue on the igniter or a misaligned burner cap. Radiant glass tops more often lose a single element, a switch or the hot-surface indicator. Induction units add a power board and cooling fan that can fail after a surge.

In older Concord homes, cooktops are sometimes squeezed into counters cut for a different model, and wiring or the gas connection can be tight underneath. Before calling, make sure burner caps are seated, wipe the igniters dry, and check the breaker. If you smell gas, turn the burner off, leave, and call the gas utility or 911.
